Domestic Violence: Why Do Women Stay?

The Violence Against Women Act was a landmark victory when it was signed into law in 1994. Last month the U.S. Congress again made history, voting to sustain funding to the Domestic Violence Hotline and other services, as well as enhancing it with added protections for survivors. Hyundai Santa Fe’s Epic Playdate Weekend Sweepstakes

This post is brought to you by The New Santa Fe from Hyundai. Click here for information on how to win a trip for four to Los Angeles to attend Hyundai’s Epic Playdate Weekend!

eaaf1f525444db08496143cd839f0e98With all of the sweepstakes out there, one particularly caught my eye — the Hyundai Sante Fe’s Epic Playdate Weekend. But what got me thinking was what would I do if I could plan the ultimate epic playdate weekend with my kids?

My kids are just hitting that cool phase where we can go places and really play! No more diaper bags. No more naps. So it would be time to hit the road and take on some of the more serious amusement parks. I’m talking roller coasters that make you scream with joy, water flumes that make your pants so wet it takes hours to dry and cotton candy up the wahzoo. We would keep a big gulp of Pepto on hand just to help us through the weekend. I see a weekend of the adults and kids giving in to any child-at-heart activity we can take in. We spend so much time being responsible parents. I could use a weekend to throw caution to the wind and let our kids know it’s okay to just indulge once in a while and act like ninnies.
